seeks dynamic and talented candidates for
the following positions:

Fort George Community Services, Inc. is looking to hire
an Education Manager. Fort George is a Head Start and
Pre-School Program located in Manhattan and has been
in operation since 1981.

Assistant  Superintendent  for 
Special Services

Candidate must have:
*  A Master's Degree in Early Childhood or related field
*  Permanent certificate in B-2
*  At least 2 years of supervisory experience

Available December 2019

The  Position:  The successful candidate
will lead staff in the development and
implementation of services for students
with disabilities and will oversee the
fiscal and programmatic needs of the
department. This person stays up-to-date
on "best practices" in special services and
in education in general; has the courage
and integrity to raise critical issues and
provide sound, research-based evidence to
address them; has the ability to recruit, hire
and retain staff members who will execute
the department's mission with fidelity and
integrity; and has demonstrated leadership
in best practices for instructional programs,
positive behavioral support, RTI and/or IN &
RS.

Job Description:
Candidate  will  monitor  and  supervise  the  education 
program.
Will ensure teachers are completing lesson plans and 
entering valid data into Teaching Strategies GOLD for 
positive child outcomes.
Ensure all screenings are completed within the 45 day 
requirement.
Conduct Curriculum Collaboration meetings with
teachers  to  ensure  lesson  plans  are  implemented 
appropriately and effectively.
Support teachers in making referrals to Committee on 
Pre-School Special Education.

Qualifications:  New Jersey Standard
School
Administrator
or
Principal
Certificate; certification and experience in
a Special Education area; minimum 5 years
leadership and administrative experience
at the building and/or district level. Prior
Director experience preferred.

1. Teach multiple grade levels/subjects.
Although we all have our favorite grade
or subject to teach, it is important for you
to understand the nuances of multiple
areas.
2 . Seek out ways to be involved.
Depending on the size of your district, you
may have the opportunity to volunteer
to be on school-level or district-level
committees. Your participation not only
gives you insight on how decisions are
made, but it also gives you the chance to
make connections with others in higherranking positions.
3. Get that degree.
If you haven't gotten your masters
degree, get it. If you already have it, go
for the Education Specialist (Ed.S) or the
Doctorate (Ed.D or Ph.D). Make yourself
stand out...
