The Berkeley County Board of Education is seeking
an outstanding
educational leader to serve
as
superintendent of its countywide school system of
more than 33,000 students. Berkeley County is just
north of and adjacent to historic Charleston, SC. The
district is located in the popular South Carolina low
country very near the Atlantic coast. It is one of the
largest districts in the state and has experienced
excellent community support for its schools.
The Board expects
to offer an initial multi-year
contract with a negotiable salary of approximately
$210,000 depending on qualifications and experience
plus a competitive benefit package. The new
superintendent will report at a mutually agreeable
time to the candidate and the Board, but no later than
